As a kid my mom always made a big deal out of my birthday (she still does) and I like it. This year I feel a little differently. I still want my birthday dinner, but as the years go by you really start to realize you won't be here forever. I feel I have been blessed by knowing a group of people I met at the DVI (Dutch Village Inn). Most of them are much younger than I but they have a much clearer view of what life has to offer than most people of the over forty crowd that I am used to hanging out with. So this year, the 42nd year of my life, I am going to try something new.
I am going to spend more time exploring my life and not put it off because the dishes need washed or the yard needs mowed. I am going to take some time to just have fun.
That is a pretty bold statement for anyone who knows me. I have to plan everything, but I am going to try.
